The Phelps Chamber of Commerce Board and Officers propose to update its by-laws to reflect current needs and operating procedures. Former president Chuck Molloy spent a great deal of time in 2010 overhauling the by-laws and changing the wording of several items. Attorney Keith Lord reviewed the proposed changes in regard to current legal requirements for chambers.
The Chamber is now ready to present it for vote to our general members. In compliance with our current by-laws we need a two-thirds yes vote by our members to ratify the by-laws. Since the document is lengthy, instead of sending it through the mail or with this newsletter, a copy, in pdf form, has been placed put up on this page below. Please take the time to read through them.
You may voice your vote through email to the chamber at
Email: Chamber@PhelpsNY.com
or by attending our next board meeting on Tuesday, May 24 at 6:00PM at the Water Side Wine Bar. Any general member not heard from by that date will be assumed as a “yes” vote and will be voted as such by the Chamber’s secretary, Diane Williams.
