Community Groups (scout troops, youth groups, seniors, Red Hats, Rotary, etc.) are welcome to visit PCHS for a special program or tour. We will design programs based upon your groups needs.
PCHS will also come to your meeting or event, with a slide program or other collection artifacts tailored to your individual topic. Contact us to have PCHS be your guest speaker at your next function! Or have us provide a bit of Arts & History fun at your next program!
ARTS & HISTORY FUN
Blend exhibits, collections artifacts and activities together based around a common theme. They are held on Sundays from 2-4 PM at the Phelps Arts Center at 15 Church St., Phelps. They are introductory level and are open to all ages – so come by yourself or with your family. Registration in advance helps to determine supplies for everyone. Examples of historic and cultural crafts are available to inspire the creation of new. Examples of types of program topics include: Make Your Own Valentine Party; Beading Across Cultures; Fabric Painting; Make an Appalachian Egg Basket; Scrap-booking; and Container Gardening.

GUIDED WALKING TOURS
Want a personal tour of Phelps’ downtown or cemeteries? 1.5 to 2 hour guided excursions are offered by PCHS. Select a tour guide – costumed from a period in Phelps history, or in street clothes. Guide fee: $2 person for school/senior groups and $5 person for any other groups and sizes. Minimum fee is $40 for private groups of less than 7 people. Wear sturdy shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. Don’t forget to bring extra pin money for coffee, pastries, and gifts!

Seeking the true Phelps experience? Working with the greater community of Phelps, PCHS can partner with other resources such as the Phelps Arts Center, Phelps Community Center, Phelps community Library and local artisans, experts, historians and educators, etc. to offer programs listed below.
