IMPORTANT NOTICE The last day to pay Town and County Taxes for 2008 is March 31, 2008 by 4:00 PM.  After that date the taxes will be returned to the Ontario County Treasurer.  We will accept payments by mail as long as they are U. S. Post Office date stamped by March 31, 2008.  No postage machine dates will be accepted after March 31, 2008.  The Assessor's Hours are 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday and Friday.  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.   The Town Offices will be closed Friday, March 21, 2008.      YOUR DOG LICENSES ARE RENEWABLE EVERY YEAR. We have several people that have not renewed their dog’s license(s). Late notices will be sent out and must be paid within 10 days from the date of the notice. If these licenses are not paid, they will be referred to the Ontario Co. Humane society. If they still remain unpaid after the humane society contacts the owner(s), a ticket will be issued, and you will have to appear in court, pay a fine and still have to register the dog. Wouldn’t it be easier to pay $12.50 for a spayed/neutered dog or $20.50 for an unspayed or unneutered dog than to risk the chance of receiving a ticket and going to court? Town Water and Sewer Bills Town of Phelps Water Bills are sent to residents in the months of January, April, July and October. They are due by the 20th of that month. If the bills are not paid by the 20th of the month a 10% late fee is assessed to the amount due. The Town of Phelps Sewer Bills are sent only once a year on July 1st.
